Abstract

Diarrhea is a condition characterized  by loose or watery stools during  bowel movements. The term  “Diarrhea” is derived from the  Greek word “diarrhoia,” which  means “flowing through.” It  generally occurs due to bacterial  or viral infections, food poisoning,  or side effects of medication. An  individual is said to have Diarrhea  if they experience loose stools three  or more times a day. It usually lasts  for one or two days and resolves on  its own. However, Diarrhea lasting  for more than two days can indicate  a serious problem and requires  medical attention.
