Abstract

Global food security faces challenges from population growth and climate change, demanding sustainable biofertilizers. This study optimized liquid Azospirillum brasilense NAIMCC B 00896 formulations with additives. Trehalose (15 mM) + PVP (5%) best preserved Azospirillum viability (8.90 log CFU ml⁻¹ at 56 weeks), compliant to FCO limits. Post-storage plant growth promoting traits remained robust: N-fixation (25 mg N/g), IAA (38.93 μg/ml), ACC deaminase (18.71 μmol mg⁻¹ h⁻¹), siderophore (42.36%), P-solubilization (SI 2.67). Field trials of PR 126 enhanced rice yield 9.86% (81 q/ha), height (106 cm), tillers (310 m⁻²) compared to untreated control. These results validate a scalable, eco-friendly solutions.
