Note: There is no specific format requirement while submitting a manuscript at the journal online submission portal. Manuscripts must be typewritten in English using Times New Roman font, 1.5 spaced with ample margins. Once a manuscript is accepted after the peer review process the author needs to submit the manuscript using the following guidelines.

General guideline

The first page of a manuscript should include (a) Title of Manuscript (b) Names, addresses, and email addresses of all co-authors (c) Name, complete address, and email address of the corresponding author (d) Abstract (e) Keywords. Please submit your manuscript in Micro-Soft (MS) Word @2010 or recent (.doc or .docx) file format according to the detailed Manuscript Preparation Guidelines given below. The number of pages is at the discretion of authors; on average, papers are 10-20 pages long. The editors reserve the right to adjust the style to specific standards for uniformity.

Title of Manuscript 

The title should be in bold, with only the first letter of the first word in uppercase.

Names of the author and corresponding author(s)

Full names of all authors are to be listed below the title in the sequence of contributions. Follow each name with superscript Arabic numerals to indicate their affiliations and include the ORCID URL of all authors in parenthesis. The corresponding author should be indicated by an asterisk (*).                 

Affiliations

Author affiliations should be listed below the authors’ names using the same superscript Arabic numerals as indicated. The affiliation list must include only institutions where each author actually carried out work related to the article.

Note: Affiliation should be written like: Full Institution Name, Department, City, State, Country.

Running title

No more than 50 letters, including spaces.            

Abstract

It should be concise and should highlight the scope and significant content of the paper. Word limit: 300 words.

Keywords

Keywords should be listed after the abstract. Maximum of six keywords and each one separated by a semi-colon (;) is allowed.

Introduction

This section should provide background information leading to the hypothesis tested. It should end with a very brief statement of the objectives of the work.

Acknowledgments

Acknowledgment should be brief and limited to financial grants/support, any specific assistance, and not for providing routine facilities. 

Competing interests disclosure certificate

Authors submitting a paper to Animal Reproduction Update have to disclose competing interests if any by submission of Competing Interests Disclosure Certificate.

Author declaration certificate

Authors submitting a paper do so on the understanding that the work and its essential substance have not been published before and are not being considered for publication elsewhere. The certificate also includes permission from other copyright holders if any copyrighted materials are used in the manuscript (Download Author Declaration Certificate).

References

Anim. Reprod. Update broadly follows the system of ‘Vancouver reference style guide’ and must be listed in alphabetical order. Literature references must be cited using the Author-Date style as shown in the following examples: 

Sole author: (Kumar, 2020) or Kumar (2020).

Two authors: (Kumar and Anand, 2020).

More than two authors: (Anand et al., 2021). 

More than one paper cited: (Singh et al., 2018; Kues et al., 2019a, b; Kumar and Kues, 2020; Kumar, 2020; Kumar et al., 2021), always cited in ascending chronological order.

For non-published work:

References concerning unpublished data and “personal communications” should not be cited in the reference list but should be mentioned in the text. After the information, the author must write the expression “verbal information” or “personal communication”.

Tables

A set of alphanumeric data organized in lines and columns. All tables must be included at the end of the manuscript, each on a separate page. Tables must be as simple as possible and only horizontal lines should be used at the top and bottom of the table. Table cells must never be split with diagonal lines. The table legends must precede it and start with the word “Table” followed by its number in Arabic numerals. Tables must be cited in the text as Table 1, Table 2, etc., in the order that they are included. All abbreviations or annotations should be explained in footnotes; if necessary, symbols should be used to include the explanations (*, †, ‡, §, etc.).

Figures and figure legends

Any illustration that contains line drawings, photographs, graphics, schemes, flowcharts, etc. should be cited as figures. Each figure should be identified and submitted in a separate high-resolution file, making sure that the smallest text is perfectly readable. The list of figure legends should begin on a new page at the end of the manuscript. Figures must be cited in the numerical order in which they are listed; e.g., Fig. 1, Fig. 2, Figs. 1-2, etc.

When necessary, authors are responsible to collect appropriate authorization to use images, pictures, and illustrations from other sources according to their original copyright owner and include a proper citation.

Plagiarism Policy

All articles are subject to plagiarism check on submission. Professionally recognized software is used to evaluate all submissions.

Article Processing Fee

Currently no article processing fee for the submission and publication 

Proofs

Proofs will be sent to the author and should be returned within 48 hours of receipt. Please note that authors are urged to check their proofs carefully before returning since the inclusion of late corrections cannot be guaranteed.

Professional English editing

Journal recommends manuscript written in English scientifically and for that manuscript should be proofread to ensure its grammatical accuracy before submission. The publisher can also provide a copy-editing service on payment.

Peer Review Policy:

• Manuscript topics are normally approved by senior editors followed by formal peer review conducted in collaboration with editorial board members and independent referees appointed by the editorial team of the journal.
• In case of a theme issue on a particular topic, the appointed Guest Editor is responsible for conducting a peer review and submitting full review reports along with accepted manuscripts of the journal.
• Journal encourages its editorial teams to use the electronic submission and peer-review system for its journals to facilitate them during the peer review process.
